BJP's Kalyan Choubey withdraws, clears way for Maniktala assembly bypoll
In a viral video circulating on social media, two semi-naked, apparently intoxicated individuals were seen bathing each other with alcohol in front of Gate No. 2 at Prayagraj Railway Junction. The video, which sparked outrage, also shows them pouring alcohol over a third person. The young men were openly drinking and causing a disturbance, drawing attention from bystanders.
The video gained even more attention when viewers noticed a sticker on the car used by the individuals, identifying it as belonging to the 'Mandal President, Bharatiya Janata Party' (BJP). This raised questions about the connection between the individuals and any BJP leader, although the details remain unclear.
Once the Prayagraj police were alerted to the incident, they swiftly seized the vehicle. The X handle of DCP of Prayagraj, tweeted about the seizure, stating that it was carried out under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act due to traffic rule violations. Legal proceedings are now underway following the seizure.
Reports have confirmed that the vehicle seen in the video is registered from Fatehpur. In response to the incident, the police have issued a fine of Rs. 24,500 to the owner of the vehicle.
